Firmware

Camius IP security cameras, surveillance NVR and DVR recorders are shipped with the latest firmware. Firmware files are regularly updated to introduce new features and enhance the user experience. Once a new version is available, you can download the respective firmware file to upgrade your device.

To download the firmware, it is important to create an account on Camius.com. You will need to log into your Camius.com account in order to access and download the firmware.

Upgrade your IP camera or DVR/NVR recorder using the Device Config Tool

  • Download and install Device Config Tool for PC or Mac
  • Download the new firmware for your device
  • Right-click on the zip file and extract all the files, and then on the Device Search and Config tool, click on the Upgrade button, locate the recorder, enter the username and password, and click on Open and select the extracted file
  • The Device Search Tool will display Logging in, and then updating to 100%, followed by the Update Disconnected prompt. Wait for about 2 minutes, then click on the Search button, and the recorder will come back online with the new firmware
  • NOTE: This can be performed  locally within the same network as the NVR

If the new firmware was not installed, use a paper clip to reset the recorder as per this guide, following option 1.

After the recorder powers on, try upgrading again as per the above steps. In case you get a prompt stating that an update is in progress, choose to continue anyway, which will lead to the update completion.
